I have listed my favourite books that I have kept close to my heart and now I want to share to you all and I have always admired in awe, glossing over the beautiful pictures; truly epitome of the ultra glam era of Hollywood, and Europe chic.

This one in particular, was my personal issue that had a 1950s theme, but put together in a modern way. It pays homage to the iconic aesthetics of this era, and I thought I could show you this as an example of how fashion will reference a style from the past.

You may not have this issue, however can reference to mix old with new.

I love this cover - probably why I bought this issue! This model is wearing an interpretation of the 50s from a designer

Wheels Dollbaby - yes, I'm a rockabilly nut also!! Old publication- can't get this issue, if lucky, can be found in second-hand store...maybe.

This is really a photo album of Grace Kelly's life - the images are sublime and when I looked over this book in the book store, I had tears in my eyes (literary)! You get an insight of her upbringing, grace and impeccable style, including iconic movies with other stars and delving into her personal style and fairy-tale marriage to Prince Rainier of Monaco. Absolute breathtaking book!

Fashion in Film by Christopher Laverty

A reference book that has all the iconic Hollywood movies with detailed descriptions of how the clothing and costume designers would make the clothing specifically to the stars and the theme of the movie. Quite an interesting book to look over. Again, a book filled with beautiful photos and written detail, referencing to the movie aesthetics at the time.

All the iconic Hollywood movie stars during the 1940s - 1950s. The quality of the photos are spectacular with the glitz and glamour of rare and classic images that are digitally restored from Kodachrome sheet transparencies, vintage prints and other film prints.

Marie-France Pochna is a journalist, writer and lecturer in the fashion industry, which has written biographies of other designers in the fashion world. This is her first biography that was paying homage to Christian Dior, the Dior brand that includes amazing photos of the beginning of the 'New Look' that revolutionized fashion and haute couture after WW2. It also reflects on the other designers that took over the Dior reigns with their interpretation of style under the Dior House.
